We are currently hiring for: Welcome Center

Welcome Center Position Details:

This is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt position. This position will have anywhere from 8-15 hours per week.

We are looking for someone who is driven, organized, and is skilled in customer-service. If you are 18 years or older and are looking for part-time work in a fun environment, aMuse’um could be the perfect fit!

Welcome Center Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist visitors

  • Become skilled at the front desk point-of-sale system and be able to independently welcome visitors and accept payment for admissions, memberships, and special events

  • Direct opening and closing procedures

  • Reset the museum floor, sanitize and clean exhibits

  • Manage the front desk and back-stock organization

  • Provide a high-quality customer service experience to all visitors and members

  • Serve as the aMuse’um expert for visitors/ stay up-to-date on museum information

  • Process memberships

  • Enter membership information into our point-of-sale system

Job Qualifications:

  • Friendly, outgoing, and enjoys working with children and families

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills

  • Professional, dependable, and punctual

  • Comfortable learning and using point-of-sale software

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Able to multitask and remain calm in a busy, fast-paced environment

  • Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team

  • Comfortable engaging guests, answering questions, and promoting museum programs, memberships, birthday parties, and special events

  • Able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds throughout a shift

  • Willing to assist with museum activities, exhibit upkeep, and daily operations as needed

  • Availability to work weekdays and occasional weekends as necessary

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Previous experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, museums, childcare, or recreation is preferred but not required

  • Must be 18 years or older

Work Environment:

Candidates must be able to focus in an open and at times demanding workspace. Position requires talking, sitting, standing, walking stairs and light lifting.

Available Shifts:
Mondays-Fridays

9:30am-2:00pm

1:30pm-6:00pm
