A Refreshed Restaurant Experience

aMuse’um Children’s Museum and Chick-fil-A Columbia are proud to present a remodeled restaurant exhibit that was unveiled to the public on January 23rd, 2023. In 2017, the original Chick-fil-A exhibit was installed. This exhibit delivers a quality space that many children utilize each day. With a focus on memory, teamwork, the value of money and problem-solving this exhibit showcases restaurant operations through the roles of cook, cashier and server.

Community relationships like the museum's relationship with the Mathis Family and Chick-fil-A, Columbia provide realistic play opportunities for museum guests. These exhibits simulate real-world experiences for young children. The vision behind these interactive exhibits is to give guests highlights of Columbia, Tennessee and its local businesses. As visual staples of the museum, these areas provide members and visitors alike a safe and educational place to play. We are grateful for Chick-fil-A's devotion to the community, especially in the creation of educational experiences for young children.

Chick-fil-A, Columbia Operator Kristin Mathis said she loves the partnership with aMuse’um because kids can experience so many different types of learning through all the exhibits. The Chick-fil-A exhibit allows children to explore, experience and enjoy the fun of making the food, taking orders, serving through the window and bringing food to the customers at the tables.

The previous exhibit layout highlighted a dine-in experience with restaurant-style booths, a kitchen and a check-out counter. When asked about the idea behind this new design, Kristin Mathis said, “we wanted to update and refresh the already fun exhibit and give the kids an opportunity to have a drive-thru window just like they might experience at the restaurant. The new chairs and tables are there to enhance the children’s space to enable them to have more seating and opportunity to serve the tables as well.” With this in mind, local designer Bryson Leach built a full drive-thru scenario that mimics drive-thru pick-up.

The fun doesn't stop there, other updates to the exhibit include a life-size Chick-fil-A cow because “it just doesn’t feel like Chick-fil-A without the cow telling us to eat more chicken,” Mathis said. From new chef coats and aprons to the simulated drive-thru, we are “excited to see our future team members enjoying the Chick-fil-A experience at the museum.”

Our vision at Chick-fil-A, Columbia has always been to build community. We hope that through this new exhibit we can give back to the community of Columbia through interactive play and fun,” Marketing Director Angela Curry said.

If you haven't visited the museum and had the pleasure of being served a fresh salad or milkshake, we encourage you to stop by and let your child experience the excitement for themself!
