Local business Columbia Paint and Wallcover is the newest exhibit sponsor at aMuse’um Children’s Museum. Third Generation Owner of Columbia Paint and Wallcover Zach Maddux said, “I appreciate the opportunity to sponsor this exhibit. I’m very proud for us to get to be a part of the museum and have an exhibit. It will be neat seeing how the kids can pretend and use their imagination.” When he asked his two daughters their thoughts on the exhibit, Finley, his oldest, said, “it’s fun and mess-free!” His youngest, Ava, said she liked it “because it is our paint store’s exhibit, and I am also a fan of the ice-cream shop.”

As both a non-profit and 100% community-funded organization, partnerships like the one aMuse’um has with Columbia Paint and Wallcover truly shape the experience each child has at the museum. It is a pleasure to observe when a family steps into the museum for the first time and decides to purchase a membership or return shortly thereafter. It shows a continued love and support of the museum by the community, as it has experienced since 2009. aMuse’um Children’s Museum leans heavily on STEAM subjects as new exhibits are discussed. Our team is thrilled to work with Columbia Paint and Wallcover to offer a new paint exhibit dedicated to art that gives children a blank canvas to use their imagination.

Centrally located in the middle of museum fun, this exhibit is a hit with the many artists that use its canvas. “Columbia Paint and Wallcover has been a staple in our community for over 75 years. I, personally, have many fond memories of going there as a child with my parents and grandparents to pick out paint colors. It is always special when the museum can partner with local businesses and see what an impact their generosity has on the children that visit the museum,” aMuse’um Board Member Stephanie Webber said.

This painting exhibit, designed by Bryson Leach, features a chalkboard-style background and paintbrushes with water. Using only water, this exhibit ensures artists’ hands and clothes stay clean while giving visitors a simple yet creative outlet. If you have not explored this new exhibit, visit the museum and let your child’s imagination run wild.
